LSU (10-6) came out of the gates roaring in the second game of the series with a pair of home runs propelling the Tigers out to a 5-1 victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (8-5).
Zach Watson led things off with a blast out to right field in the first inning to put the Tigers on the board. LSU got another run across in the second inning courtesy of an RBI triple that went down the right field line courtesy of shortstop Hal Hughes.
The Tigers extended their lead in the bottom of the third with an Austin Bain RBI single followed by a two-run blast from Hunter Feduccia to put the game out of reach. The Rainbow Warriors finally got on the board in the eighth with a two-out RBI double from Kekai Rios, but that was all they were able to do on Saturday night.
Caleb Gilbert improved to 2-0 on the season, throwing five shutout innings. He only allowed four hits, struck out one, and walked four on the evening.
LSU will look to win the series on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 2 pm.
