Kramer Robertson got hit in the mouth with a baseball and a baby opposum ran out onto the field in the seventh. The wild weekend at Alex Box Stadium continued on Saturday night as the LSU Tigers rallied in the ninth to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks (26-20, 7-15 SEC) 10-9 in 10 innings.
The Razorbacks struck early in the top of the first with a two out single by Jake Arledge that got two runs across.
Arkansas continued to get runs on the board in the top of the second with a single up the middle from Cody Scroggins that would get Tucker Pennell across. Clark Eagan followed up with another single that would score Scroggins. But LSU would get on the board in the bottom of the second with a bases loaded walk of Jake Fraley.
Scroggins struck again in the top of the third with a single to center field to make it 5-1.
The Razorbacks went off in the top of the fifth with a four run inning thanks to a pair of LSU errors. But the Tigers responded in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of RBI singles from Cole Freeman and Greg Deichmann to cut away at the lead.
LSU would continue to rally off a Jordan Romero sac fly in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-4. The Tigers were able to capitalize off of an error by Arkansas in the bottom of the seventh to get another run across.
The Tigers would tie things up in the bottom of the ninth with a four run inning. Robertson, who had been hit in the mouth with a baseball was able to complete the rally in the bottom of the 10th with a single and a throwing error by the first baseman to third would allow Jake Fraley to get home safely.
Russell Reynolds would get his second win of the year allowing one hit, walking one, and striking out one in one inning of work.
The Tigers (30-16, 13-10 SEC) will go for the sweep on Sunday with first pitch set for 1 pm.
