The LSU Tigers are preparing for their trip to Omaha to play in the Men’s College World Series. However, their players are still earning accolades for their work so far this season.
Five Tigers were named All-Americans by Perfect Game.
Kade Anderson, Jared Jones, Anthony Eyanson, Derek Curiel, and Casan Evans all earned honors from the publication.
Anderson was the lone First-Team All-American honoree. The Madisonville native has been steady at the front of the LSU rotation this season, compiling a 10-1 record with a 3.58 ERA and 163 strikeouts. That K number ranks no. two in the nation.
Jones, a Georgia native, earned Second-Team honors. The first-baseman hit 20 homers to go with 70 RBIs this season. He ranks third all-time in round-trippers in LSU history.
Eyanson, originally from California, was also a Second-Team selection. He worked alongside Anderson as the co-ace of the pitching staff, striking out 142 and working with a 2.74 ERA.
Fellow California native Curiel was a Freshman-All American. He hit .347 for the season, primarily occupying the leadoff spot in Jay Johnson’s lineup. He also ranged the outfield as a plus-defender.
Texas product Evans was also a Freshman-All American. He worked in a variety of roles in the pitching staff, excelling in the postseason. He totaled a 1.90 ERA with six saves.
