LSU Shooting Goes Cold Late in Loss to Florida

For a good chunk of Wednesday evening’s matchup, LSU (13-9, 4-6 SEC) looked to be the better team. However, the Florida Gators (15-8, 6-4 SEC) were able to capitalize off of some poor shooting by the Tigers and come away with a 73-64 victory.

After a strong start by the Gators, LSU got out in front thanks to a 13-4 run about halfway through the first half. However, Florida fought back in quick fashion and brought the deficit down to two points at the break thanks to 18 points from Jalen Hudson.

The second half started out less than ideal for the Tigers, going 2-of-11 from the field. That was more than enough for the Gators to pull away as the rest of the game progressed. Florida’s lead ballooned up to 12 points, but LSU fought back and took the lead back after a slam dunk by Brandon Sampson with 6:54 left. However, the Gators got back out in front and a three-point play by Hudson in the final ninety seconds was the final nail.

LSU will return to action on Saturday when they host the Ole Miss Rebels (11-13, 4-7 SEC) with tipoff set for 3 pm.
