The LSU Tigers did not want to start off conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 loss to Alabama (12-5, 1-0 SEC).
It took some time before either team scored, but the Tide got on the board in the top of the seventh and Haynie started things off with a two-run double to left center. The scoring continued with Avant bringing Haynie home with an RBI single. Henry got another run on the board with an RBI single of his own.
But it was Chandler Taylor who closed the door on the Tigers with a two-run jack in the top of the ninth to give them the win in game one of the doubleheader.
Alex Lange dropped to 2-1 on the year allowing four runs off of 10 hits and struck out four in six and two-thirds innings of work.
The Tigers (13-4, 0-1 SEC) will try and split the twinbill with Alabama and first pitch will be set for 6:30 pm.
