That Alex Box magic struck again on Friday night with a double error being a key play in a 2-1 win for LSU over Texas A&M.
How It Happened:
Zach DeLoach gave the Aggies an early 1-0 lead in the third with an RBI single up the middle to get Logan Foster across home plate. Things got weird in the bottom of the seventh with a seemingly routine fly ball by Brandt Broussard was missed by Jonathan Ducoff and was followed up by a poor throw and that was enough to get Broussard across home plate and tie things up at one run apiece.
Josh Smith got the Tigers out in front with a solo shot to right field and that was enough to open up the series with the win.
Big Number: 3
Texas A&M proved that three errors can prove to be the death knell in a baseball game. Add the fact that two of them came off the same play is more than enough to have Aggie fans shake their heads in embarrassment.
Player of the Game: Zack Hess
Another solid outing for him may have really been the key in Friday night’s matchup. Six innings of work and only allowing one run off of five hits is way better than some of the performances he has had in the past.
