Both the LSU Tigers and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns won over the weekend, but it was not enough to boost the programs back into the AP Top 25 Poll.
LSU defeated South Carolina 52-24 on Saturday night despite the absence of their starting quarterback Myles Brennan.
Freshman quarterback TJ Finley started in place of Brennan, who suffered a lower-body injury in the loss to Missouri. Finley recorded three touchdowns and led the Tigers to their second win of the season.
The Tigers are now 2-2 for the season.
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are receiving votes for the Top 25 Poll, but could not propel into the rankings. The Ragin’ Cajuns received 50 votes.
Louisiana defeated the UAB Blazers 24-20 on Friday night. They snapped UAB’s 21-game home winning streak. They are now 4-1 for the season.
