The defending National Champions have unveiled their non-conference schedule for the 2023-2024 season.
The slate features six games against postseason teams from a year ago as Kim Mulkey enters her third season in Baton Rouge. In addition to Angel Reese, Falujae Johnson, and others returning, the Tigers also signed the top recruiting class in the country as well as bringing in Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow.
The conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
The season opens in Las Vegas in the Hall of Fame series against Colorado, a team that reached the Sweet 16 a year ago. The Buffaloes return four players with 30 or more starts last year, including two all-conference players.
Following that, LSU will play three straight home games against Queens (NC), Mississippi Valley State, and Kent State. The national championship banner will be unveiled in the Queens matchup on November 9.
LSU will then hit the road and take the short drive down Interstate 12 to Hammond, America to battle with Southeastern, who made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Livingston Parish is also where Mulkey spent her childhood.
The final game before Thanksgiving will be on November 20 when the Tigers welcome Texas Southern to the PMAC. During the break, LSU will play in the first women’s Cayman Islands Classic. During the classic, they will battle two WNIT teams in Niagara and Virginia on November 24 and 25.
Then, the marquee matchup of the non-conference slate will take place on November 30 when LSU has a Final Four rematch with Virginia Tech in the PMAC. LSU trailed the Hokies by nine heading into the fourth quarter but rallied back to win and advance to the title game.
After finals, the Tigers will then host Louisiana (December 10), McNeese (December 12), and Northwestern State (December 17) before traveling to Angel Reese’s hometown of Baltimore to face Coppin State on December 20.
The slate will then close on December 30 when Mulkey and the Tigers welcome Jacksonville State to Baton Rouge.
