LSU Eunice Baseball has promoted Nick Studdard to the program’s top offensive assistant, Head Coach Jeff Willis announced Tuesday. The move comes after assistant coach Tommy Goodale accepted the head coaching position at NAIA powerhouse Georgia Gwinnett College.

Studdard enters his second full season on the Cajun Prairie after helping guide the Bengals’ offense in 2025 while working primarily with the catchers.

“Coach Studdard’s work ethic and leadership abilities are second to none, and he is a great example of what our DDCS principles stand for,” Willis said. “He’s another young talent in the coaching profession, and I am excited to see him grow into these new responsibilities.”

In 2025, Studdard helped oversee one of the most productive offenses in recent LSUE history, as the Bengals hit .340 as a team and launched 70 home runs—numbers that rank among the program’s best in more than a decade.

Studdard will be joined on the offensive staff by former Bengal standout Beau Kirsch.

Before arriving at LSUE, Studdard coached at Baton Rouge Community College, Bowling Green State University, and Southern University. A New Orleans native, he has also built an impressive résumé in the Northwoods League—one of the nation’s premier collegiate summer leagues—where he enters his third season as field manager of the St. Cloud Rox. Studdard led the Rox to back-to-back 50-win seasons and has coached 16 MLB draft picks, including three currently on major league rosters.

Studdard played one season at Southern University and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in supply chain management in December 2022.
