If there’s a series that could turn into something positive for the LSU Tigers (28-15, 11-8 SEC) it’s this series against the Alabama Crimson Tide (15-27, 2-17 SEC).
It was all LSU from the outset as they beat Alabama on Thursday night by the score of 8-2. Nick Coomes started things off in the first with an RBI single through the left side.
It quickly became a 3-0 lead in the first with another RBI single from Kramer Robertson and Coomes reaching home after a fielder’s choice from Josh Smith.
However, things seemed to get a little dicey in the bottom of the second when Alex Webb sent one flying to right center field to make it 3-2. Jordan Romero gave the Tigers a little bit more cushion in the third with an RBI single.
The final nail was put in when Antoine Duplantis hit a two-run double in the ninth that scored Romero and Smith.
Alex Lange improved to 5-4 on the season allowing two runs off of eight hits, striking out ten, and walking one in seven and a third innings of work.
The Tigers will look to clinch the series on Friday with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
