The LSU Tigers didn’t need extra innings with a great effort by sophomore Alex Lange in a 4-0 shutout of Cincinnati (0-2).
Jake Fraley got things started early off of a wild pitch in the bottom of the first to go up 1-0. The first home run inside Alex Box went to Greg Deichmann with a shot to right field.
The Tigers got all of the scoring done in the bottom of the fifth with a sac fly by Beau Jordan and an RBI single by Friday night’s hero Bryce Jordan.
Alex Lange got his first win of 2016 throwing six and two-thirds scoreless innings. The sophomore stud allowed only one hit, walked three, and struck out nine batters on the afternoon.
The Tigers (2-0) will go for the sweep in the Box on Sunday with first pitch set for noon.
