LSU’s Bradyn Swinson has been named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week after a three-sack performance on the road against South Carolina.
Swinson also added forced a fumble and tallied five total tackles in the Tigers 36-33 victory.
His first sack came late in the second quarter on third down in LSU territory, forcing the Gamecocks out of field goal range.
In the fourth quarter, Swinson’s second sack resulted in a fumble that was recovered by Major Burns at the LSU 12-yard line.
After LSU took a 36-33 lead late in the fourth quarter, Swinson registered his third sack as South Carolina tried to comeback. South Carolina ended up missing a 49-yard field goal as time expired to drop the game by three points.
This is the first honor of Swinson’s career and the first for the 2024 LSU football team.
The Tigers will host UCLA this Saturday at 2:45 with pregame beginning at 12:45 on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles.
