After a disappointing loss on Saturday against Auburn, head coach Will Wade dismissed freshmen Mayan Kiir and Galen Alexander from the basketball program on Monday, as first reported by Cody Worsham of Tiger Rag.
Wade elaborated on the status of the two players and mentioned that Kiir would take a “leave of absence” from the program with a chance to be re-instated to the team. However, Alexander will not be returning to the program.
It should also be noted that Wayde Sins and Brandon Rachal were both suspended for Wednesday’s matchup against Tennessee for violating team policies. Tipoff for the matchup against the Volunteers is set for 5:30 pm.
