Former Kaplan High School star Kennedy Marceaux is coming home and transferring to play for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns’ softball team next year, she announced last week.

The 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Louisiana played her freshman season for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Now, she will play for coach Alyson Habetz at UL.

In her high school career, Marceaux was highly decorated. She was ranked as the No. 8 player in the recruiting class by Extra Innings Softball.

As a freshman at Alabama, Marceaux hit .310 over 27 games with 10 starts. She also hit two home runs, two doubles, drove in nine runs, and had a two-hit game against the Cajuns when the teams played.

She will now transfer back home to play for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, who are coming off of a 29-25 season in Alyson Habetz’ first campaign.
