After 10 years with the organization, Marques Colston is no longer with the New Orleans Saints.
Colston, who was drafted by the Saints in the 7th round of the 2006 draft was released on Monday afternoon with a failed physical designation, according to Joel Erickson of the New Orleans Advocate.
Colston, 32, has seen his performance on the field decrease. Last season he had only 45 catches for 520 yards and four touchdowns.
The 10-year veteran was one of the players that looked to be out of the door at the end of the season as he was scheduled to count for about $6 million dollars against the cap according to Spotrac. Releasing Colston will save the Saints $3.2 million dollars against the 2016 cap. However, the Saints 2016 dead money total is now $25 million, a league high.
