Houston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick was named the American League Player of the Week for the week of July 14-16. This is the first Player of the Week award in McCormick’s career.
McCormick batted .636 with seven runs, three home runs, five RBI, three walks, and a 2.188 OPS. Saturday’s game saw the Astros centerfielder record the first four-run game of his career, becoming the first Houston Astros player to record four runs in a game since Jose Altuve on September 27, 2022.
This is the first AL Player of the Week award for the Houston Astros since Yordan Alvarez in September 2022.
