McNeese has announced that it has agreed to a home-and-home football series with Weber State.

The agreement will see the Cowboys play in Ogden, Utah on September 28 of the 2024 season, while the Wildcats will make a return trip to Cowboy Stadium on Sept. 13, 2025.

The two programs last played back in 2013 with the Cowboys winning 43-6 in Lake Charles. The two programs have met on the gridiron four previous times with McNeese holding a 3-1 lead in the series including a 2-0 record in Ogden.

“I’m excited to add Weber State to our football schedule as a home-and-home,” McNeese Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer said. “Weber has a consistent winning football program that I truly appreciate. It will be a true test that I expect us to be ready for next year.”

Weber State plays in the Big Sky Conference and has appeared in the FCS playoffs six of the last seven years including a semifinal appearance in 2019.

“The opportunity to have them back in The Hole in 2015 when we open our new press box was an opportunity too good to pass up for our tremendous fan base,” Schroyer said.

Adding Weber State to the schedule completes McNeese’s 2024 non-conference slate which will be a 12-game slate for the FCS, the first since 2019.

2024 McNeese Non-Conference Schedule

Sept. 7 at Texas A&M
Sept. 14 at Tarleton State
Sept. 21 vs. Alcorn State
Sept. 28 at Weber State
