New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas will be out for the rest of the regular season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Saints lose another key offensive player after getting back starting quarterback Drew Brees. Brees will start against Kansas City this Sunday. The longtime Saints quarterback missed the previous four games.
Thomas is now out for the final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury dating back to week one.
Thomas returned to action in Week 9 after being out since the Saints season-opening win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The ankle injury was “not getting better with practices and games” for Thomas, according to Schefter. Thomas has caught 40 passes for 438 yards this season.
New Orleans is 10-3 overall and the No. 2 seed in the NFC behind the Green Bay Packers.
