LSU junior utility player Ali Newland was named SEC Softball Player of the Week for last week’s efforts.
Newland hit an incredible .700 in the series victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. Her seven hits led the Tigers to an important series win over a ranked opponent.
The Bremen, GA product is now hitting .336 on the season, with an even more impressive .413 mark in SEC games. LSU will be back in action in the SEC Tournament this week.
