The 2019 NFL regular season ended in wild fashion on Sunday night with the Seattle Seahawks coming up just short against the San Francisco 49ers. With that game’s completion, the postseason schedule has been released and the first thing many will notice is that the New England Patriots will be playing during Wild Card Weekend.
This is the first time that the Patriots have played during the first weekend of the NFL Playoffs in 10 years and it was all because of a wild loss to the Miami Dolphins and a nice win by the Kansas City Chiefs dropping Tom Brady and crew down to the three seed.
When it comes to the New Orleans Saints, they needed some help after their 42-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It seemed like they could have had the improbable happen with the Detroit Lions leading against the Green Bay Packers headed into the fourth, but it wasn’t meant to be as Mason Crosby hit a walk-off field goal to secure a first-round bye. Combine that with a costly delay of game during the Seahawks-49ers matchup, the Saints stood pat at the three seed and will take on the Minnesota Vikings with kickoff set for Sunday, January 5th at 12 pm.
