Heading into Monday night’s game, it seemed like all the momentum was in LSU’s corner. Freshman Eric Walker looked to be ready to go the distance after having some tightness last week.
However, this wasn’t the case as the LSU Tigers were taken to the woodshed by Oregon State after Eric Walker made an early exit due to forearm tightness by the score of 13-1.
The Beavers got on the board early with an RBI single from Trevor Larnach in the first inning. Larnach followed it up with a two-run single out to center field in the fifth to extend their lead to 3-0.
After Nick Madrigal grounded out to Todd Peterson to score Adley Rutschman in the sixth, KJ Harrison poured it on with a grand slam out to left center field to make it 8-0.
Madrigal put the final nail in the coffin in the top of the seventh with a two-run double down the left field line
Eric Walker dropped to 8-2 on the season allowing one run off two hits in two innings of work before leaving after suffering some tightness in his forearm early in the third inning.
LSU will now fight for their postseason lives on Wednesday against Florida State with first pitch set for 6 pm.
