Pelicans Crushed by Rockets on the Road

Posted by clintdomingue on March 25, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

Considering the fact that the New Orleans Pelicans (43-31) have played four games in five nights, it was kind of expected that the bottom would drop out. That’s exactly what happened on Saturday with James Harden helping the Rockets come away with a 114-91 victory.

Key to Loss: Rockets Incredible Start

Things got out of hand right out of the gate for the Pelicans with the Rockets controlling the first quarter, getting out to a 12-4 lead within the first four minutes of the ballgame. Houston made it 21-6 with 4:48 left in the first, but the Pelicans were able to cut the lead down to 13 at the end of the quarter.

Player of the Game: James Harden

No Chris Paul? No problem for James Harden on Saturday night as he led the way to a win last night with 27 points, six boards, eight assists, and a steal.

Big Number: 39.6

The Pelicans shooting from the field last night was abysmal last night, shooting 39.6%, including 28.6% from beyond the arc.

Where They Stand

The Pelicans dropped a couple spots to sixth in the Western Conference after the loss.

Next Up: Host the Portland Trail Blazers; Tipoff at 7 pm
