It seems like every matchup in SEC play for LSU (14-11, 5-8 SEC) seems to be determined within the first ten minutes of regulation. That was the case on Tuesday night with the Tigers shooting 39 percent from the field en route to an 80-65 loss to Alabama (17-9, 8-5 SEC).
After an early back and forth, LSU struggled to score from the field going 4-of-14. That led to the Crimson Tide taking advantage, going on a 9-0 run to make it 24-14 with 9:06 left until halftime. However, the Tigers started to fight back late, making it 39-30 at the break.
LSU starts out strong in the second half with a 14-6 run early to make it 45-44. That didn’t last long as they started to get cold once again, not making a shot from the field over the course of five and a half minutes. Herbert Jones officially finished off the Tigers with 2:59 left in regulation with a huge dunk.
LSU will return to action on Saturday when they host Mizzou (18-8, 8-5 SEC) with tipoff set for 1 pm.
