The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Department of Athletics was gifted a bountiful $3 million from Macro Companies and the McElligott family to own the naming rights of the future club level, located inside Cajun Field. The announcement was made Monday afternoon.
The gift from the McElligott family is in addition to the $1 million to B.I Moody III College of Business Administration, and will help put in place the new Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the establishment of the McElligott Endowed Eminent Scholar Chair.
The new west tower of the renovated facility will include premium suites, a grand club level and club seats, loge boxes, and press box. The premium amenities will be available to Ragin’ Cajuns fans and will offer new avenues for their involvement with the football program and the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics Foundation (RCAF).
The McElligott Club Level will also be of use as a dining facility for Louisiana’s more than 400 student-athletes and be a community event space throughout the year.
Some other plans to strengthen the fan experience is a new video board lights, sound system, renovated west side seating, new east side façade and operational and office spaces for the staff of the Department of Athletics.
The additional gift will go towards the Director of the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, once appointed. The Center will help assist both student and faculty innovation through teaching, advisory services, and resource identification.
