This weekend at The Tigue was necessary for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns as they prepare for the final stretch of the regular season, completing the series sweep on Sunday with a 13-3 win over North Alabama.
How It Happened:
After a pair of hits to start the contest by the Lions, Drew Hudson scored off of a wild pitch to take the early lead. The Cajuns responded in the bottom frame with Connor Kimple hitting a groundout to first on a sac bunt to score Ben Fitzgerald.
Drake Osborn gave Louisiana a 2-0 lead in the second with an RBI single to left-center to score Carson Roccaforte. Josh Cofield followed that up in the third inning with a well-placed hit through the right side to score two more runs, making it a 4-1 lead.
The Cajuns offense came alive in the fifth inning, putting together four runs that was capped off by an RBI double courtesy of CJ Willis. The hits kept coming in the sixth with a three-run inning that was highlighted by an RBI double from Tyler Robertson.
North Alabama was able to scratch another run across in the top of the seventh when Ben Keifer hitting an RBI single that scored Luke Harper, but the Cajuns made it a 13-2 lead in the bottom frame with a bases-loaded walk of Nick Hagedorn putting the finishing touches on the victory.
