Ragin Cajuns Get Out of Troy With Win to Avoid Sweep

Posted by clintdomingue on March 31, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns were on the verge on getting swept, but Hayden Cantrelle once again came up huge on Sunday, helping them come away with a 4-3 win.

How It Happened:

Neither team could get anything going until the bottom of the fifth when Manning Early got the Cajuns on the board, scoring on a passed ball. Handsome Monica responded in the sixth inning with a two-run home run that just got over the wall in right-center field to give the Cajuns a 2-1 lead.

Rigsby Mosley tied things up after the seventh inning stretch with an RBI double that went down the right-field line. Todd Lott put Louisiana back out in front in the eighth when he drilled one out to left center.

Cole Prestegard got things tied up yet again in the bottom of the eighth with a solo shot out to center field, but Hayden Cantrelle finished the job with an RBI double to right center in the ninth to avoid getting swept by the Trojans.

Big Number: 9

The Cajuns pitching staff looked solid on Sunday afternoon with nine strikeouts to compliment the Cajuns nine hits.

Player of the Game: Handsome Monica

While Cantrelle came up clutch late, Monica really showed how vital he is to the Cajuns success at the dish with that two-run blast in the sixth. It was just what the doctor ordered to get that offense rolling.

Next Up: Tuesday vs Southeastern Louisiana; First Pitch at 6:30 pm
