The LSU Tigers have reportedly found the first piece of their coaching staff in the Jay Johnson era.
As first reported by Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball, the Tigers are set to sign Arizona State’s Jason Kelly as the pitching coach
Kelly, the 2018 D1Baseball Assistant of the Year, spent the last three seasons at Arizona State as both the pitching coach and as the recruiting coordinator. His efforts saw the pitching staff for the Sun Devils win 11 of their 15 weekend series and advance to the postseason.
Prior to coaching the pitchers at Arizona State, Kelly was in the same position for seven years at the University of Washington and has coached 15 pitchers who were eventual selections in the MLB Draft.
