The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving Sindarius Thornwell, according to The Athletic.
The Pelicans now have 13 players on the roster.
Thornwell made 11 appearances this season for New Orleans. He joined the team for the season restart inside the NBA Bubble in Orlando. He averaged 2.8 points in 6.4 minutes per game.
The NBA trade deadline is March 25 and the move to waive Thornwell means the team can take on two more players than the number they waive.
Thornwell was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft. The Los Angeles Clippers selected him with the 48th overall pick and played two season with the team.
New Orleans is currently 13-17 overall for the season.
