New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Bryan Bresee was named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday after blocking the potential game-tying field goal against the New York Giants on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Bresee, a Clemson product, cleared the New York offensive line to get a hand on Graham Gano’s 35-yard attempt in the closing seconds of the contest to secure a 14-11 win for the Saints and keep them in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs with a 5-8 overall record.
The Saints’ first-round pick in 2023, Bresee has had a strong start to his career, recording 12 total sacks (7.5 in 2024), nine passes defended, and one forced fumble.
New Orleans will return home to face former LSU quarterback and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. Kickoff inside Caesars Superdome is set for Noon.
