Saturday around the NFL was full of major landmines with the big contest between the Chiefs and Patriots being postponed after Cam Newton and Jordan Ta’amu tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday morning.

Another big bombshell was dropped late Saturday with Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reporting that there was a Saints player, later identified as fullback Trey Burton, on the flight that tested positive for COVID-19, putting Sunday’s contest against the Detroit Lions in major jeopardy.

However, a re-test of Burton’s sample came back negative per Katherine Terrell of The Athletic. Burton also took a rapid test which also came back negative, meaning the contest against the Saints remains on.
