The New Orleans Saints added two more players to its defense.
In Friday night’s NFL Draft, New Orleans selected Ohio State linebacker Pete Werner with the No. 60 overall pick.
The 6-foot-3, 242-pound linebacker is a two-time All-Big Ten Conference honoree and was among the Buckeye leaders in tackles in the past three seasons, including leading the team with 54 tackles during the 2020 season.
In 47 career games (35 starts), Werner recorded 185 career tackles with 16 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, 11 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
New Orleans then traded both of its third round picks (No. 98 & 105) to Denver to select Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo with the No. 76 overall pick.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Adebo was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and second-team FWAA All-American for the Cardinal. In two seasons (2018-19), Adebo recorded 97 tackles (67 solo), 8 interceptions and 38 pass deflections.
