The New Orleans Saints traded with the Washington Commanders to select Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave. The black and gold traded pick 16, 98, and 120 for the 11th overall pick in the first round.
At 6′ 1″ and 189 pounds, Olave racked in 65 receptions, 936 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2021.
This is the first pass catcher taken by New Orleans in the first round since they took Brandin Cooks in 2014.
At 19, the Saints selected Northern Iowa’s Offensive Tackle Trevor Penning. Penning is a potential replacement for Terron Armstead as he stands 6′ 7″ and weighs 322 pounds.
The Saints still currently have pick 49 in tomorrow’s second round.
