The New Orleans Saints have selected offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr from Texas in the First Round of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Banks Jr joins the team via the ninth selection in the opening round on Thursday.
Banks Jr started all 42 games over a three-year career at the University of Texas. As a freshman, he earned Freshman All-America honors. He continued that progress as a sophomore, earning First Team All Big 12 honors. By his junior year, he had become one of the most decorated linemen in school history.
In his final season at UT, Banks Jr won the Outland Trophy, awarded to the best lineman in college football. He was a unanimous All-America selection and also earned First Team All-SEC honors.
Banks Jr is from Humble, Texas and now will just go one state over to play for the Saints.
