The news that Sean Payton has finally picked a team was announced early Tuesday afternoon. The former Black and Gold coach has been traded to the Denver Broncos. Adam Schefter first broke the news via Twitter.
New Orleans will get the 29th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft and the Broncos’ second-rounder in 2024. Denver will receive Payton and the Saints’ 2024 third-round pick.
The Broncos have now invested three first-rounders, three second-rounders, a fifth-round pick, and three veteran players for the services of quarterback Russell Wilson and Payton.
The Houston Texans announced that they have hired their next head coach in former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans. Ryans was another coach other than Payton and Jim Harbaugh whom the Broncos were looking to hire to fill their vacant head coaching spot.
