The SEC met in Destin, Florida this week as part of their spring meetings and one of the biggest stories coming out of it is that their graduate transfer policy has been changed.
School presidents and chancellors voted on Friday to reduce penalties for programs whose graduate transfers fail to meet academic requirements. This could help out the Florida Gators right away as this could open the door for former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire to make the jump to Gainesville.
The Gators were previously on probation for three years due to two previous players failing to meet academic requirements when they joined the university in 2015. The penalty for this has now been reduced to only one year. Zaire tweeted out what seemed to be a reaction to the recent changes.
Let's go!!!!!!!!!!

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey called the change a “maturation process” and several of the officials have welcomed the changes.
Extra Points:
Beer in Tiger Stadium? As of right now, beer will continue to not be sold in SEC stadiums except in designated private areas. However, Sankey stated that it will be a conversation topic going forward. This change in the SEC might wind up being changed at next year’s spring meetings.
