In sports, some teams just have your number. Look at LSU football and how Alabama has had their number in recent years.

In the world of college baseball, it’s looking like TCU (8-1) has LSU’s (8-2) number after a powerful second inning gave them the edge to take the Tigers down 9-6.

Josh Watson got the Horned Frogs on the board in the top of the first with an RBI double down the right field line. LSU responded in a big way with Greg Deichmann connecting with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.

The Tigers took the lead later in the inning with a two-run single from freshman Jake Slaughter and extended their lead with an RBI single from Jordan Romero.

LSU’s lead wouldn’t last long as TCU sent two home runs from Austen Wade and their power hitter in Luken Baker put five runs on the board to give the Horned Frogs a 6-4 lead.

TCU would get two more runs across in the fifth and sixth innings to put them over the top.

Alex Lange dropped to 2-1 on the year allowing six runs off of five hits, walking three and only striking out two in one and two-thirds of an inning of work.

LSU will try to bounce back when they take on Baylor (10-0) with first pitch set for 3:35 pm.
