Less than 24 hours after opening up the season with a victory, the Louisiana men’s basketball team picked up its first recruit for the 2022 signing class.
Chancellor White out of Foster High School in Texas signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to play for Bob Marlin and the Ragin’ Cajuns.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard, and three-star prospect, is ranked by 247Sports as the 33rd best prospect in Texas. White also has a connection to the program as his father Frank was coached by Marlin in the late 1990’s during his tenure at Sam Houston State.
“Chancellor gives our program a versatile athlete on the wing that is a constant threat to score with his shooting ability,” Marlin said. “We are excited to welcome him to our family and looking forward to having him in Lafayette.”
White led Foster High to an 18-7 record during the 2020-21 season and averaged 18.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
