The LSU Tigers will have a different starting quarterback this Saturday.

LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron announced on Thursday freshman quarterback TJ Finley will start in place of Myles Brennan against South Carolina.

Orgeron said earlier this week Brennan has a “significant” lower-body injury and the starting quarterback would be determined based on the best week of practice between the two freshmen quarterbacks Finley and Max Johnson.

Finley will get the start for LSU, but Johnson will see some action on Saturday.

The new starting quarterback, Finley, passed for over 7,100 yards during his three seasons at Ponchatoula High. He recorded 57 passing touchdowns and threw 22 interceptions.

Johnson was a three-year starter at Oconee County. He passed for over 5,200 yards in three seasons and recorded 49 passing touchdowns with 22 interceptions.

LSU is off to a 1-2 start to their season. You can listen to LSU vs. South Carolina on 103.7 The Game, Acadiana’s Sports Station. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
