The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns had one of their own drafted on Tuesday afternoon in Todd Lott. The junior was taken in the ninth round with the 275th overall pick.
“We are all extremely proud of Todd and everything that he has been able to accomplish,” Robichaux said. “He had a stellar junior season and was able to really elevate his game. He is a character guy that will make an immediate impact on the Cardinals organization. I cannot wait to see him fulfill one of his childhood dreams and we all wish him the best of luck in this new chapter.”
After Lott’s selection, the Ragin Cajuns baseball program has had at least one player picked in the MLB Draft in every year during the Tony Robichaux era.
Lott was outstanding at the plate in his junior season, batting .332 and drove in a team-best 48 runs. His draft value is slotted at $152,000.
