Welcome everyone to another edition of #TriplePlay!
Turn One: End of One Streak…
Heading into this weekend’s conference-opener, Alex Lange hadn’t lost a game since becoming a Tiger. In game 1 of the doubleheader, that streak ended. Lange hasn’t been as great as he was last season, but seeing a player like him lose the way he did, showed a slight weakness from a player that looked damn near untouchable heading into this game.
Turn Two: Another Streak Keeps Rolling
Antoine Duplantis is on quite a roll this season. The former Lafayette High standout has a hit in every single game this season. As a freshman that’s a great way to start 19 games in, especially considering how close he is to breaking Alex Bregman’s record for best hit streak to start a career at LSU. His family has a rich history involved with LSU, but in pole vaulting. I think LSU head coach Paul Mainieri is glad he chose to play college baseball.
Turn Three: Interesting Week Ahead
After nearly getting swept this weekend, the Tigers have an interesting week ahead of themselves. Starting off with a Tuesday night matchup against the Ragin Cajuns in Metairie and having only one day between that and a three game series against Texas A&M makes for an interesting scenario for LSU. Texas A&M will be a big challenge for the Tigers as the Aggies have only lost two games so far this season. If the Tigers want to bounce back from a rough start to conference play, this will be one hell of a challenge.
