Welcome everyone to another edition of #Triple Play!
Turn One: Hit and Miss
The Cajuns in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader were scoring at will. It looked like the Cajuns could decimate this team. But it all came crashing down in the other two games in the series against Little Rock, holding them to six runs after scoring 15 in game one. There’s something about a team that scores a ton of runs in one game, but can’t keep the bats alive throughout a series is disconcerting, but not unexpected.
Turn Two: Pitching Problems
The Cajuns pitching staff struggled this weekend against the Trojans, allowing 21 runs over the weekend. The starting pitchers got the brunt of the attack, especially Wyatt Marks. Marks has been on a slide lately with two straight losses, and only pitched 5 total innings in those two starts. Could it be a sophomore slump?
Turn Three: Tough Week Ahead
The Ragin Cajuns have a tough schedule ahead of themselves. A midweek matchup against LSU in Metairie and a three game homestand against Georgia State prove to be an interesting schedule that could either help or hinder the Cajuns down the road. If the Cajuns want to right the ship, this weekend’s matchup is the perfect time to get back on the right foot after a rough weekend series.
