Welcome everyone to another edition of #TriplePlay!
Turn One: Wild and Wacky Weekend Part I: “Triple Play”
This weekend’s series between the LSU Tigers and the Arkansas Razorbacks can best be summed up in one word: weird. And it all started on Friday night with triple play that wasn’t really a triple play. In the bottom of the fifth, the Tigers were able to turn two and got the third out on an appeal. If all of that jargon confused you, here’s the video from LSU Baseball’s Twitter.
This is what happened…

Have I ever mentioned that baseball is an awesome sport to watch? It’s because of moments like this that make the sport an amazing spectacle to behold.
Turn Two: Wild and Wacky Weekend Part II: #RallyPossum
Like I said at the outset, this is probably the weirdest LSU series in recent memory. But the possum running out onto the field in the bottom of the seventh is what takes the cake in my opinion. How often do you ever see a wild animal run out onto the field? But after it was captured, the Tigers began to rally around it. As we saw last year with Lil Brown Suga, the Tigers have a tendency to be superstitious and this weekend was no exception. The Tigers rallied back in that game from being down 9-1 and wound up winning in extra innings. The next game, the Tigers put a toy possum inside the dugout and they were able to complete the sweep. You could put anything inside that dugout as long as you keep getting wins on the board.
Turn Three: Wild and Wacky Weekend Part III: Two Dollar Steak Tough
Early on in that Saturday night matchup, Kramer Robertson got caught square in the mouth with a baseball. An ordinary player probably would’ve been taken out of this game. Robertson is not ordinary. He stayed in the game and even hit the game winner in the bottom of the 10th, fat lip and all. According to head coach Paul Mainieri said that the first thing Robertson said was to not take him out of the game. That is a major testament to how tough of a player he is. I’ve got to give major props to the shortstop.
