Welcome everyone to another edition of #TriplePlay!
Turn One: Offensive Surge
The LSU Tigers had a scare in the Friday night matchup winning a 2-1 game, but after that the Tigers were back to their old tricks, but it seemed like the runs were coming a lot easier than usual. Most notably in the first game, where they racked up six of their 11 runs in the first inning. This might be the rally possum’s doing, but whatever the Tigers did different, it is working right now.
Turn Two: Pitching Helps LSU
One big complaint all season long is that when LSU plays it’s usually one side of the ball that excels while the other doesn’t do so well. This weekend was refreshing to see it be both sides of the ball performing well. Alex Lange and Jared Poche performed admirably. The only negative was on Sunday with every pitcher the Tigers put out there having runs scored on them. But at the end of the day, you swept a weekend series against a team you’re supposed to beat. That’s a win in my book.
Turn Three: Big Showdown At the Box
This weekend at Alex Box Stadium is the big one. The LSU Tigers will be taking on the Florida Gators in a three game series starting on Thursday night. The Tigers will need every bit of the rally possum magic to keep themselves in this big matchup. Florida is atop the SEC standings, but there isn’t much of a gap between where they are and where LSU is. If the Tigers winning ways continue this weekend, you could be seeing a team that winds up being one of the top seeds in the SEC Tournament. This will be a fun end to the season.
