The University of Louisiana men’s basketball forward Tirus Smith announced Monday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Smith made the announcement via Twitter:

Smith played in one season for the Ragin’ Cajuns. He averaged 8.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. He started in 17 games for UL but was suspended for the final six games of the year due to disciplinary reasons.

Smith played in 23 games overall for UL and took over the forward starting position in December 2019.

The forward out of Petal High in Mississippi becomes the fifth UL player to transfer, including Jalen Johnson, Kristian Lafayette, Calvin Temple and Javonne Lowery.

The Ragin’ Cajuns have added three transfers in Portland’s Theo Akwuba, Mississippi State’s Devin Butts and Cal’s Jacobi Gordon.
