Framber Valdez had a great week coming out of the All-Star break.
He threw a no-hitter, the first of his career, against the Cleveland Guardians. His team also added Justin Verlander to bolster the rotation and make a push at another World Series. Now, Valdez has been named American League Player of the Week for his efforts.
Valdez needed just 93 pitches to throw the no-hitter, and it was the first in franchise history for a left-handed pitcher.
Framber has a 9-7 record with a 3.07 ERA. He will be on the mound Tuesday night in Baltimore has the Astros begin a series with the Orioles.
