After a two-year investigation, Will Wade now knows his punishment from the NCAA.
McNeese head basketball coach Will Wade received a 10-game suspension and a two-year show-cause order from the Independent Accountability Resolution Panel, or the IARP, on Thursday.
Wade originally received a self-imposed one-year show cause and a five-game suspension from McNeese back in March. This 10-game suspension will replace the five games given by McNeese.
“We accept and respect today’s decision by the IARP in regards to Coach Wade,” said Heath Schroyer, McNeese Director of Athletics. “We are all happy this is finally behind us and we have clarity moving forward.
“We have been proactive from the beginning in respecting the NCAA’s process and in regards to protecting the integrity of our institution. That will not change moving forward.
“The enthusiasm around this program is at an all-time high and we are all excited about the future of McNeese Basketball with coach Wade leading the way.”
LSU’s men’s basketball and football programs were also given three-year probation for their actions in the NCAA’s investigations.
