Waters Dominates In Win Over Texas A&M

The last time LSU (18-3, 8-0 SEC) traveled to Reed Arena, Tremont Waters was just a freshman and came up huge with a buzzer beater to lift the Tigers past Texas A&M (8-12, 1-7 SEC). Fast forward about a year later and the Tigers didn’t need any late heroics thanks to Tremont Waters dominating on the floor en route to a 72-57 win on Wednesday night.

How It Happened

After a slow start to the game, Waters got things going in favor of LSU, scoring five of their first seven points. However, the Aggies kept it within four points for much of the first half and were able to head into the first half down only one point after a pair of late free throws from Josh Nebo.

The Tigers came out of the break with a strong 15-4 run to take a double digit lead. From that point on, it was all LSU in large part because of a change in focus with 18 of their 35 points coming from inside the paint.

Big Number: 10

After losing a tough one on the road against Houston, the Tigers have been on a hot streak unlike any other with ten straight wins. While it doesn’t sound like much from a historical context, this is an impressive sight to behold for a program that just a couple of years ago was looking up to the rest of the conference from the proverbial cellar.

Player of the Game: Tremont Waters

Waters may have had one of his best games in recent memory with 36 points, seven boards, and three steals. What made that performance even more impressive was him going six-of-ten from beyond the arc. Simply phenomenal from the sophomore
