Welcome everyone to the latest #3OT where I break down what went right and what went wrong for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns! In this edition, I look at their loss to UT Arlington.
1st OT: Poor Shooting Plagues Cajuns
The Ragin Cajuns have been missing something for the last couple of weeks when it comes to shooting from the field. Saturday’s win was a great example of their shooting ability. However, the effort from the Cajuns on Monday night seemed like they had lost that ability to shoot. Shooting 32 percent in a game usually spells disaster for a team and that’s exactly how this game went for the Cajuns. There needs to be a better effort from the Cajuns if they want to make their road to the big dance easier when it comes to the conference tournament
2nd OT: Defensive Efforts Lacking
The Cajuns has a bad night defensively as well with an inability to stop the Mavs off the fast break, allowing 20 points. They were also unable to hold the Mavs to under 100 points. This was the second time that they allowed more than 100 points in a game this season. It just seems like this Cajuns defense has been missing something the last two Monday nights.
3rd OT: Washington Continues to Put Up Numbers
The brightest spot on this team continues to be Bryce Washington as he put up yet another double-double against UT Arlington. He led the team with 17 points and 12 boards on the night. The Cajuns are helped by players like P.J. Hardy being able to score at will from beyond the arc, but it seems like everyone else on this team has an inconsistency when it comes to scoring regularly. Hopefully this can turn around in the next couple of weeks as the calendar flips over to February.
