Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: Improved Defensive Efforts Keep Tigers In It
The last time the LSU Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies faced off, the Tigers defensive efforts were probably the worst of the season. In this game, the Tigers were able to right the ship defensively to keep them in it, forcing the Aggies to commit 19 turnovers on the afternoon. If last Wednesday’s performance Tigers was one of the worst, then this might have been one of the best.
2nd OT: Extra Effort by Hornsby
Keith Hornsby was another big part of the Tigers big win over the Aggies. He may have been less than stellar from the arc, but he made up for it on the defensive side of the ball, getting five of the Tigers 12 turnovers Saturday afternoon. But one moment will be looked at by fans was in the second half. There was a loose ball and two Aggie players and Hornsby both went for the ball and Hornsby came up with it. Unlike a certain Carolina Panther in the Super Bowl, the senior guard put the extra effort to give his team a boost at a crucial point of the game.
3rd OT: Final Push For Postseason
Depending what bracketologist you talk to, LSU is one of those teams that could slide into March Madness by narrow margins. But four of the final six games for the Tigers need to be wins for the Tigers to make a decent case heading into the SEC tournament. Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee are all at .500 or worse. LSU will need to keep 100 percent of their focus on the last six games to have a chance to make it to the postseason.
