The New Orleans Saints 2016 schedule, along with the rest of the NFL, was released on Thursday night. The Saints will be featured in two primetime games this season, the lowest since 2006.
The season starts with two out of their first three games at home, starting with the Oakland Raiders, followed by a trip to New York to take on the Giants. Then the Saints will return home for a Monday night football matchup against NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons on September 26, one day after the 10th anniversary of the Saints returning to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. They will then head over to the west coast to take on the San Diego Chargers before having a bye week.
After the bye week, the Saints return home to take on division rival Carolina. They will then hit the road for a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Saints will spend the next two weeks taking on two straight NFC West foes in the Seattle Seahawks at home and the San Francisco 49ers on the road respectively. After that, the Saints will play host to the Super Bowl 50 champion Denver Broncos before a Thursday night matchup against the Panthers on the road. After Carolina, the Saints will be in the Superdome for a two-game homestand against the Rams and the Lions.
The Saints will close out the 2016 season with two games against the Buccaneers (December 11th and December 24th), and the Cardinals (December 18th) and Falcons (January 1st) on the road.
